3.3 Timber selection considerations

Plantation timbers (radiata pine, hoop pine; renewable, consistent supply), exotic timbers (imported; check sustainable sourcing and legality, 2024 MC6), recycled/reused timbers (seasoned, character; check for metal and contaminants), "green" timbers (certified sustainable; also green can mean unseasoned, so define your use), economical usage and waste minimisation, environmental issues/pollution, sustainability, WHS issues (dust, allergies, toxic treatments).
